I have created a pie chart where the components are based on volume. The legend shows what percent of the total volume each piece of the pie makes up.

I'm trying to flip it so that the pieces of the pie show the percent (this is no problem) and the legend shows the volume for each piece of the pie. I'm having a problem changing the legend. It is showing the volume times 100 with 2 decimal places and the percent sign.

There's a whole series of these to be changed, so I'm hoping for a relatively simple solution.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Schusser,

It is a stupid crystal trick. It exists all the way back in each version. It is because they do not separate out the number options for Value and Percent.

What you can do is show your values on your pie. Choose not to display the Legend. Then create a crosstab to use as the legend. You can format the text in the row of the crosstab to be a particular color, by right clicking on the field in the crosstab and then clicking on the Font Tab, X-2 formula editor button next to the Color option and entering the following (correcting for all your possible data values):

select CurrentFieldValue
case 'A' : crred
case 'B' : crblue
case 'C' : crgreen
case 'D' : color(92,125,145) //custom color example
default : crblack

I hope that helps...

regards,

ro

Thanks Rosemary,

I was afraid I might have to do it this way, but was hoping there was something easier.

Wonder what we're in for with CR11.

Thanks again,
schusser
