Pie Chart In Report

Hello....
I am trying to create a PIE CHART in a report that's row source is unknown until the search criteria is selected in a form. I am able to build my sql string with all of my criteria fine...but i can't seem to set the row source for the chart...the property is not available when i setting it dynamically.

Can you even set this programmatically???? or does the chart always have to have the query/table set in design mode?

Yes - you can only set this property in design mode, but this should not restrict you. Set up your sql strings for criteria etc and build a complete SQL string (not just criteria) for the record source. Programaticly open the report in design view, add your new record source to the chart object, save the report, and open in preview/print view, et voila!

I have sucessfully programmed charts using this method - OK they were column charts, not pie charts, but the principle should be the same.
