Hi. I have FP on my laptop and on a PC at home, and I use both to maintain a Web site. When I open an existing page on my laptop, pictures and graphics show up just fine, but on my PC, they don't -- all I get are tiny boxes with crosses in them. I know the pix are there, and I must have accidentally opted for some default that hides them. I've used FP '97, '98 and 2000, and this is the first time I've had this problem. Any suggestions?
Regards,
Bob

Run a Report on Broken Links. View>Reports>Problems>Broken Hyperlinks. I think you'll find that the web page is linked to the images on your hard drive, not on the web site.

Thanks, you're absolutely right. Nothing but broken links. So what can I do about it?

Rgds,
Bob

First, to see the images on your website, you must send those images to your folder at your Internet Service Provider.

Secondly, on your web page, you must link your images to their localization at your Internet Service Provider. For example, the link of image 1 should be URL/image1.jpg (or gif)

If you've already normally published the site, you probably just need to update the links. Just go into the ones with the broken links. Right click on the picture for the Picture Properties. In the Picture Properties dialog box, click on the General tab. In the top field, Picture Source, the link probably looks like this:

file:///C:/images/Library/Photos/Photo.jpg, which is why it's going to the wrong place.

Click the browse button, find the photo in your web and select it. The correct link should look something like this:

images/logo_new1.jpg

Depending, of course, on where the file is. If this doesn't work, make sure your photos are in the web.

Run the Broken links report several more times, to help you catch all of them.
