This is a huge problem, that I just discovered.

Placed EPS logo files, and placed Photos, have different percentage measures when comparing the Quark document opened in Quark, and when opened in InDesign.

Can I do anything about it!!!

Its not on the list of things that might happen when converting.

Please help me out on this

I'll bet there is alot of things not on that list.

InDesign was not made to convert quark files, you have to expect there will be alot of variation between the two.

It always pays to check you converted files very carefuly.

Are you comparing the size of frames or the size of content within?

The size of the content, the same picture in quark, might have a size X 42% Y 42%, and then in InDesign X45% x X45%.

It might help to make sure that all measurement options, etc. set in ID preferences are exactly the same as the measurments used in the Quark doc. It might also help to look at the other ID prefs and set them to the Quark doc.

Once the doc is opened in ID, you could check all the various document settings to see how they match up to the Q doc.

I've received maybe 100 Q4 docs in the last 2 years. and have not had yur problem. I did not do anything before opening them. That leads me to believe that there's something in the Q doc you receive that does not match up to the default ID.

You might try creating a basic one page Q4 doc, with some basic text and pics and see how that imports into ID to
