I am using Quarkxpress 4.0 on a Mac. The problem I have is when scanning pictures at 300dpi and placing them into Quark the preview looks very bad. When I have someone send me a quark file or when they send me pictures they look fine. I have checked the preferences and it is set at 32bit and 256 levels.

If a customer sends me a file of a tif or eps. I place it into quark and it looks great. If I take that file and edit it in photoshop and update, it looks very rough. I could not find a solution in photoshop to help me out. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

I maybe wrong, but I seem to remember having all sorts of problems getting an image out of a Quark file, the export always seemd to output a preview. This was quite a few years ago now. It was also more of a Quark thing rather than a photoshop thing.

The thing is that if you or someone else emails me a picture, tiff, eps, jpg and I place it into quark it looks fine. When I edit that photo in photoshop and update or if I scan my own photos they are nothing but blurry in quark.

can you explain EXACTLY how you are saving files with Photoshop?

Kind Regards
Duncan
