OK here's my plan. Keep in mind, I'm a newbie, so details and patience is much appreciated!

My attendant console is constantly on night service which redirects the call to a pickup group and rings on a buzzer overhead. All administrative staff have a PICKUP button on their phones to answer the call.

What I'd like to do is instead of the call ringing on the buzzer, I'd like it to ring on ext 607, then 608 (if 607 is busy). I have 2 phones at the front desk both with 607 & 608 on them.

I'm trying to get my desk clerks to use the main console but if the console is engaged, I'd like it to roll over to 607/608 (if you take night service off the main console, and the console is engaged, it will ring overhead for someone to pickup)

How do I make the necessary changes and what LD do I need to do this in?

Any help is MUCH appreciated!
Thanks!
Mike

John,

Thanks so much for your reply!

I'm not sure if 607 & 608 are line 0 and 1. Calls come in through a hunt to 2800. 607 & 608 are desk phones. I'd like the calls to go from ringing on the overhead buzzer to 607 & 608.

What LD do I go into and what commands do I type?

Thanks!
Mike

In LD11 make the LHK = the key 608 is on, or you could remove 608 if it's not being used for anything else an make all the keys MCR 607.

this is a guess as there are several ways this can be achieved, but I'll take a guess that in LD15 your NIT = the buzzer extn #. Change NIT to 607

How do I know that the buzzer ext is and how do I change it?

1st you could plug an analogue phone in the buzzer jack & ring a display phone. 2nd PRT TYPE = NIT in LD21. If you see the buzzer extn number against the NIT1 then you can change it in LD15 to 607 & delete the buzzer extn

he's right, connect a analog to the buzz and call the oper.

do a chg to their phone?

change the key to something else

ie

ld 11
req = chg
type = whatever the phone is
echg = yes
item key xx nul or adl 12 or anything else

then return through till you get to req again

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
