How do i set up a 6416D+ to automatically pick up a ringing bridged appr. line.

Two questions: 1) Does the phone have a headset attached? 2) What are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

The phone does not have an headset attached. The first 3 buttons are call appr. and 4th is bridged appr. When i pick up the handset i want to be able to pick up the bridgrd appr. button without pressing it when it rings.

The system is not designed to do that. That would make bridged appearances have priority over calls that are routed to the sets own appearances. You could set those calls up in a cover path and have it ring on one of it own numbers. That would make those calls come in the way you want them to be answered.

You can set one of the buttons to in-aut-ans, but it will pick up on any incoming that I know of.

On an 8410, picking up the handset will answer a bridged appearance, if the bridged line is ringing.

bobbywires,

ch sta page 2, 'bridged call alerting' field. turn it off.
