Pick Tool Not Functioning

I'm a long time Corel user, but I'm stumped...The pick tool will not select anything. I can marque select and right click select and auto select after draw works, and nudge works but when you click a selected object to move it, the boxpoints disapear and you can't do anything with it.

I've re-installed and checked settings a dozen times.
Can anyone help?

Same was for me.

Solution:

Go Tools/Options, Workspace/Toolbox/Pick Tool and for Ctrl and Shift keys select Windows standard.
