Physical Loopback test

I want to do a local Loopback test on a PRI2 , is it enough to interconnect the Tx BNC connnector to the Rx? or is it necessary to set it in loopback mode at LD 96? I know it won't go up since it can't be user/net at the same time. What result should I expect as succesful?

no need to do anything in 96. Card should lose error lights and STAT in LD 60 should have no alarms (May need to reset the PRI while the loop is on).
