PHP or ASP but not Both (until you reopen the browser)

Hello,

We recently moved from NT to SBS 2003 and are hitting a few bumps in the road.

I have installed PHP/MYSQL and it works just fine. I enabled ASP in IIS as well. All scripts work fine.

However...
Upon login (from any computer), I run a php script. Let's call it "updateinventory.php". I can keep "updating the inventory" until I decide to login to the "orderform.asp". All the ASP scripts will continue to work, but if I go back to the php scripts they stop working.

"Stop working" is loosely used here. The PHP script processing works, however I use "GET", "POST", "REQUEST" methods. In other words the form submissions won't work.
The code didn't change, neither did the client computers.

Ang suggestions?

My suggestion was to turn on content expiration, in the belief that might cause IE to consider its cache perpetually stale and always reload pages.

apologies. my suggestion stands separately and cumlative then. turn off server cacheing.

I have "enable content experation" checked to expire it immediately. PHP is installed as an isapi application.

I used code similar what earlier in my troubleshooting. When I do refresh the browser, I get the message about posting refreshed data. Looks normal, just isn't there.

In Internet explorer I open our main page (with links to the order form, RGA's, inventory, etc.). IE takes me there. When I open it with Mozilla, I am required the "login" to the domain/server to access any of our intranet pages.

this is because IE can pick up and send through your NT logon data.

i'm stumped on the more specific issue. can you confirm the same behaviour for both GET and POST methods? (i.e. change the method on your test form above).

have you also turned off content cacheing at the server as I suggested?

lastly, instead of echoing just the GET variable, echo the entire local variable set (i.e. use

PHP 5.(whatever they had published last week)

that's surreal. the data is in there in $_REQUEST. $_REQUEST is supposed to be populated from incoming get/post/cookie data.

so what seems to be happening is that php is not populating its get and post variables, even though it's got the data in $_REQUEST (and the query string etc). i've not come across this before (and cannot replicate the error on my servers).

stumped.

Maybe I should do a new install of php and start over.
Probably will get the same thing, but its worth a shot.
I was hoping it to be a setting in thge php.ini file.

i'd still stake money on it being your IE or your IIS installation (particularly as you use NT authentication which IE handles automatically and other browsers dont - in fact, that's a thought. can you turn OFF all directory security and test whether you get the same issue? or maybe just turn off integrated windows authentication for starters )
