PHP/javascript - Is there an interface to a softphone?

I'm developing a computer program on my Macbook that runs in a browser.
It's written in PHP & javascript.
It displays phone numbers to call, one after the other.
As of now, I dial my VoIP phone.

I'd like to interface with a softphone so that the telephone number
in the browser shows up in the softphone, where a single press of a button
will make the call - to generate a quicker user protocol.

Then there's the issue of timing calls, recording voice, etc.
Anybody know of such PHP/softphone combos or development or kits?

why not just write an applescript to launch xlite or sjphone and paste the number into the dialling box. that seems easiest.

I hadn't even thought of developing in Applescript all this time.
Know of a good tutorial I can learn from, especially one that deals with interfacing between two programs?

not much development to do. there's a macro recorder i think. the osx forum will be able to help more.
