Have just started getting a very strange problem whilst running Photoshop 7 on my laptop. When i open a file or start a new file and try to start work on it, the CPU goes to 100% (i have checked that it is Photoshop by looking at the processes running). I have 8gb free on the C:drive, i have 512mb Ram, a 512-1024Mb Swap File, no other programs running ( have also disabled antivirus software) Running windows Xp Sp1.

The Phptoshop Scratch file is on the same disk as the pagefile (as it has always been), i don't have much choice as i only have one drive.

Anybody have any thoughts on this.

Thanks In Advance

Have you tried running it in safe mode??

Give that a try and see if you get the same results.

Have you updated your AV and done a full scan recently? Just one of the many things I do when A machinr starts playing up.

Another thing to try is running adaware to help clear off a system.

Let me know if any of these work
