This one is boggling me, if anyone could help me out.
I have a pc on our network, which is solely used for marketing purposes. Photoshop 6 is one of the applications used on the machine which is a win98 OS and for some strange unknown reason whenever the network connection is physically unplugged it seems that the program stops responding when you want to open a file from somewhere other than the default path. This happens only with Photoshop. Can it be anything to do with preferences to a specified network path?

I thank you in advance.

Is PS installed on that particular machine?
Sounds like you are running it over the network from an installation on another machine. Check the Launching short cut.
Hope this helps.

Thank you audiopro for your help, PS is installed on the machine. I am assuming that the program is trying to access a file on another machine on the network that was previously opened or saved. So...
Did some further research and found out that if I delete the preferences by pressing ctrl + alt + shift when PS starts, it resets itself. This works, so hope this helps someone else with the same or similar problem.
