photoshop launch problem

I have a AMD Athlon xp 1800+ 768 ram 240gb hdd. just installed photoshop cs and whenever i launch photoshop i get message that not enough memory allocated.
any ideas

Once i launch photoshop i cant access no menus nothing. it just say not enough memory and i just shuts the program down.
