Hi,
I have photoshop CS and today when I tried to start it I recieved the following message:

"could not initialize photoshop because the file is locked. Use the properties command in windows explorer to unlock the file"

I tried the suggestion and saw no option to unlock the file? Has anyone resolved this issue that can help?

Thank you!

Right click on the "file(s)" and highlight properties. See if Read Only is checked. Uncheck if it is.

I did check that. I ended up calling Adobe technical support and they merely had me do the ctrl-alt-shift right after starting the program. This of course fixed it, and cost me $39.95.

Oh well, live and learn....

Sorry I didn't come across this thread before you had to spend $39.95, It's a fairly common problem there is a faq about it here faq229-2082

With all due respect man, you posted on the 3rd and Kliot replied just one day after. That's pretty damned fast, you shoulda been more patient bud.

With all due respect h09, girls don't like being called "man".

And 24 hours may very well be too long if she had a deadline to meet.

Sorry everyone. I did have a deadline to meet as dimoj pointed out, and did take some offense to the nature of h09's post. It offered no assitance to the issue and only proved to be derogatory. Glad I don't work for you H09!

Kliot, Thank you as well.

For anyone out there that has not spent time going through the faqs I highly reccomend it. There is some great information there that may help with a project or solve a future problem. Simply select the Faqs tab at the top of the page.
