You will have to forgive me as I am totally new to this and have only just purchased CS2!
When I import photos into Indesign the image becomes pixelated, despite the original being of high quality. I am importing straight as jpg files do I need to import them as psd files or am I doing something wrong?
Becky

Right click on the picture, graphic or photo, and choose the quality you like.
InDesign has a defalut setting that shows graphics in a lower resolution than the original really is.

Hope it works out :)

Thank you very much, that's much better!!

Just to add so even if it's poor quality on the screen it'll still print up in the quality that the original file is in?

Cneedelman: Mac certainly supports right clicking. If you're using on older one button Apple mouse, just control click as has always been the case on mac. If you're not using a 2 button mouse, you're losing a lot of productivity.

OK, it's my wife's MacBook Pro, and I found the mouse that she doesn't like to use and I right clicked. There are Copy/Paste, Zoom, Ruler, Grid, and Guide options, but no way to change the resolution of the 1 picture of 3 in the add that is pixilated. The other 2 pictures are fine and when she makes a pdf all of the pictures come out fine. Any ideas?

Very bottom of teh pop up menu - Display Performance.

Or View menu/display performance.

If you go to InDesign>Preferences>Display Performance to High Quality (twice) while there are NO documents open, it will stick for any *new* documents you create.
