I'm having a hard time getting photographs to work in my forms and reports. It should be easy.

I looked at thread702-289543, but my question is easier - not trying to work with linked files - only embedded photos.

I have the photos in the table - embedded. They show up as 'package' in datasheet view.

I set up a form and the icon shows up associated with the photo - the icon for the asscociated program for opening JPG files. When I convert the photo to BMP, then a small icon of the photo shows up with the name of the file below.

In reports it is the same.

I want the photo itself to show up.

What do I do? I've tried all the settings that help gave me.

LOKIDOG,

How did the embedded image "get there"? The header (within the column) may be corrupted.

What is the column's data type?

Let me know...

I put the photo into the table by dragging it in from explorer. Not sure what you mean by column or header?

In the table the field name for the photos is photo1. It is an Ole Object field.

I put it into the report by creating a report, opening it in design view, opening the field list and dragging it in.

I have the following chosen for data properties:

data : photo1
Display type: content
Update options: automatic
OLE type allowed: either

everything else is blank in the Data Properties

Have you tried adding the control for an unbound object frame?

Also what is your setting for "size mode" change it to clip

That does not give me the option to relate to a field in the table. Only bound object frames do that.

I don't know what version of Access you are using. But we found out that you have to have MS photoeditor installed (it isn't installed by default and some later versions of office/Access don't even have it) and the files you want to show up (say JPGs) need to be associated with photoeditor. That worked like a charm. when we had all our images associated with IrfanView and used a OLE link in Access all we got in a report is the Icon for the program.
