I've tried scanning 35mm prints into my v40 at all resolutions form 150 to 1200 dpi and I'm using using premium Kodak paper - Anyone know why my pics look like garbage?

didn't know the V40 could scan 35mm. Do you have the right attachment? Wife has one in home office, and it doesn't appear to have the right parts (not a flat-bed scanner). Do you have access to another HP scanner? I'd go that route, since the things are so cheap now. I bought a Scanjet 3300C, works okay but the newer models come with little slide-in feature built into the lid where you just load in your slides or film and close the lid. Works pretty good from what I've seen.
Doesn't help your issue, but best wishes!
Happy Thanksgiving, too!
