I have an ipo500v2 r6.0 with about 60 ip extensions. It was installed by someone else and now I am administering it. The problem is that I have changed extensions and users. We had a power outage this weekend and when we returned today, all the phones were the extensions prior to my changes. What it seems I need to do is make the phoen think that it should be extension 2222 when power is restored and not 1111. Any ideas.

You need to change the extension number on the phone itself too.

Try *36 when there is no user on it.

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Ok so here's what i did. the old ip extension was 1111. the new ip extension should be 2222. i made these changes last week no problem. we had a prolonged power outage this weekend. when i came in all the extensions were "old" again. so i went to change 1111 back to 2222. there was already extension 2222 built (ip extensions). i had to removed 2222 and renumber 1111 back to 2222. when i make the change the phone accepts it. i *36 and the phone says 2222:no user. i log in and it says 2222:username. when i unplug and plug back in the rj-45, it goes through it's boot up and then comes back to me as ext 1111. i *36 and it is still 1111. it is as thought the phone itself is keeping in memory what extension it thinks it should be. these are all 5621sw phones.

got it figured out. had to HOLD LOGOFF every ip extension, then type in new extension at phone. worked like a charm.
