Phones Missing Extension

I am finding alot of M3903 & M3904 with missing extension in the display. If I unplug and plug the set back in they extension re-appear. All the sets are on the latest firmware. Is there a fix for this issue?

If the firmware is current then it's most likely a patch.

I do not know of a particular patch. Just make sure the latest deplist is in the machine and see if it cures your problem.

My patches are current and my 3900 sets do this from time to time. Just tell the user to unplug the phone and plug it back. This happens on every switch I have worked on. Patches and latest firmware never takes care of it. 3900 sets are junk.

This is news to me, I have never seen this problem

Tell them to press the shift key. Every time I've seen this, it's a case of a user accidently hitting the shift key and if there is nothing built, it looks like the keys disappeared. Once they hit the shift key again, all the keys will be right where they should be.

Ive had this happen in the hospital I'm working at mostly with 3904s. The extensions would go blank and any programmed feature lable names would go back to displaying autodial. Thought this maybe cause by accessing a dictation system and hitting to many key stokes( over 75). Still have not been able to find a solution. Vendor not too helpful either. Please post if you find a solution.
