Phone speed dial (SpDial) not working after IPO reboot

When our IP Office (500, running V4) is rebooted the phones lose the speed dial function (new numbers can’t be stored and old stored numbers are not displayed). If I unplug and replug the phone, it reload the firmware and the speed dial function returns, however the “button click” volume becomes painfully loud. In addition, the application settings (e.g., Phone Screen on Answer) are returned to the defaults.

1) Is there any way for speed dials to work after a reboot?
2) Can the click volume be controlled?

I suspect the problem has something to do with all of the phone units requesting downloads simultaneously after an IP Office reboot which swamps the server.

We have about 50 IP 5610/5621 phones. The TFTP/HTTP server is our VM Pro server.

What software are you using for the TFTP server? Is your installer using Manger or do they have a tftp server app running?

Manager can only support 5 phones at once with TFTP.

I am assuming you have 5600 series phones.

Just wanted to chime in that I've been experiencing the same problem, and that it was not resolved with the most recent firmware (2.8.3).

Our TFTP server is the IPO 500 unit. I may test this using a different TFTP application and report back with my results.

It is a particularly frustrating issue because asking users to reset their phones is difficult, as it will briefly kill their network connection on their PC.

Our problem was that we rebooted the system after the T1 got confused (a different IPO problem). Although we were rebooting, the phones would not download the software. The IPO hasn't lost the T1 for at least 2 weeks now so I don't know if it's working or not....

I have to say that for a company that has end-to-end control of the software, hardware and phones, IPO is remarkably buggy. Our windows server (MS Server 2003) running VM Pro hasn't crashed once since it's been installed, while our IPO hasn't stayed up for 3 weeks straight. Windows 2003 stability is surprising because it's running on some white box that appears to have been put together by the the BP's son in Jr. High.

Klubar,
You have come here over and over and bashed the product. We have all advised you of possible fixes for your system. maybe you should give it a shot and get the system fixed. I have lots and lots of systems out there that have run for years without a single issue. every phone system out there could be acting the same way as yours if it were put in wrong. you are probably at the point where you will never like the IPO no matter what happens with it.
