Does anyone know the settings to change in order to not allow two people to pick up the same line and hear the conversation. In other words just the person who picks up first should be able to listen to the conversation. I have an Meridan Option 61c with 2616 handsets.

Privacy is inherent on digitals phones and NOT possible on analog phones. Therefore, if there is an analog phone in the system with the same extension number as your digital phones you can not have privacy on that line. Anyone with that extension would be able to pick up the phone and listen in on the call. Delete the analog extension and you will have restored privacy.

No, you need to do a DNB for the number in question, you will more than likely see a 500 set in the DNB. Out it and that will restore the privacy to the 2616.

So, when you do the dnb on the number in question, the only info the switch provides is the TN for theh 2616? Post the DNB and TNB if you could.

when i do a priontout of the dnb all is listed is the TNs for that number

Add POA to the CLS of each 2616 and see if that does the trick.

Make sure all 4 are the same, and you should be good from there.
