Phone rings then just flashes

I have a M2616 with display and when someone calls into his DID which is key 0 it rings once then flashes. This happens when no one is on his line. I looked at his programming and compared to others that are working correctly. I even disabled and re-enabled the phone. Any help appreciated.

I did compare the drng setting to a few sets and that field is blank for all.

Hi,

This sounds like FITA. Check the class of service has the setting FITA not FITD, flexible incoming tones allowed.

We figured it out, the remote user was using a headset that was off-hook. I thought to fix the problem it would be something simple or stupid. Thanks for the help.

the old auto answer to a headset trick. your wording said the phone rang once. you heard ringback tone once, much different problem. what you hear has very little to do what happens at the phone. i had a user ask why his phone still rang after he had it unpluged. i was thinking of calling a preacher for that one. turned out he heard ring back when he called it from work, not that it was really ringing... life is a bitch, then you die
