Hi everyone!
I have a problem with Avaya B179 Device, I'm following manual guide but in SSA I see the error "Phone registration is allowed with legacy default password" and all seems like an authentication error, but I'm using the same name and password in IPO and B179, even the default user/pwd. I've used this kind of devices with lower version without problem, but now I don't find the solution
Any advice?

The error message is not specifically pointing to the B179 but it is a general message warning you that IP extensions must have a password for registration as part of the new security settings in IP Office.

Password to auto-create extension/user
The Auto Create extension feature has been enhanced to improve usability and security. In previous releases, the IP phone registrations were done with a default password, or the installation technician saved the password that was used during installation. Thus, the password was unsecure or difficult to retrieve. In IP Office Release 11, the system prompts administrators to type a password when they enable Auto Create Extension or User. This password is not displayed or stored in any text file and becomes applicable to all Extensions auto created henceforth. Existing IP Phones can register with the default passwords, but administrators can block the registration by using the Block Default IP Phone Passcode option in the File > Advanced > Security Settings > General page. A pop up window to type a password and confirm the password appears when:
Administrators try to enable auto creation of extensions/users in the System > LAN1/LAN2 > VOIP page.

Administrators try to create a new user in the User page and selects an associated H.323, SIP, or SIP DECT extension.

R11 change SIP extensions now have a Phone Password setting.

The warning message relates to a new R11 security setting which on your system is off (so presumably an upgrade, on new systems it would be on by default).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks guys! I'll work with your advices and I'll back with comments
