I have a partner release 7.0 with partrner messaging R7. the system was set up to ring through the reception for 3 rings then get picked up by the Auto attendant , while no other phones on the system ring. a power outage caused programming to be lost, reprogrammed the basics for all 6 phones on system. when you call in the call comes to extension 10 shows the line appearance with blinking red light but does not actually make the ringing. i checked if the phone had a different ringer set, swaped phones, checked DND and night service to see if that was affecting it and problem persisted, checked all programming procedures everything looked normal , ive hit a wall and cant for the life of me figure it out , the system also wont let me log into administor for voicemail tried everything combination of default passwords and ones client might have changed it to and cant get in still, any advice would be greatly appreciated , thanks

I would try to take processor out and test by itself. You could try to do a #728 reset. If that doesn't work, default the system and re-program.

A red blinking light means that the line is set to not ring at that extension. Did you check the line ringing setting for X10? It needs to be set to immediate ring on an incoming call. Also, did you try restoring their programming (#125)?

VM: The password can be reset by Avaya or a tech familiar with the system.

Did you assign Ext. 10 to #505-7?

I assume that you don't have a Backup Card to restore from?

i powered down and restarted , added the backup card and backed up on it , line ringing is set to immediate ,and it is assigned to group 7 on 505... still no dice the weird thing is that sometimes it rings the phone when the auto attendant doesnt pick it up after the normal 3 rings , 2 times out of the 10 i tested it, it rang through because the AA didnt pick it up.

Did you assign Ext 10 to grp 7, #505? It should be unassigned. That group is for your VMS exts only.

no its not assigned to that its a partner messaging module with a 2 port license card, and the system has a 308 module so ports 27 and 28 were assigned , which seemed to work and access voicemail fine

I would do a full system default and start from scratch again since it's a small system. After the system default, make sure x10 rings before doing any other programming (you'll need to do #505 of course so the lines don't get picked-up by vm).

yea i was thinking about doing the complete default, thanks for the advice ill let u know how it goes
