I have an Ip hardphone set up at a remote location through an existing VPN.....for some reason the phone manager is unable to send 46xxsetting.scr.....any ideas ?
46xxsettings.scr is an optional file to enable customization of the IP hard phone afete the software has been loaded. It does not exist by default on the IP Office install and the msg can be ignored.
alternatively edit the 46xxupgrade.scr file & remove the last line that refers to this file. This will reduce the time th e IP phone takes to reset
these fiels are standard text scrip files but as windows expects .scr to be a screen saver you may have to rename the file first
1) Obvious but needs to be said, Manager has to be running when the file is requested by the phone.
2) Change the last line of 46xxupgrade.scr from GET 46xxsetings.scr to GET 46xxsettings.txt and then phones will request the .txt file and you won't have to change the file extension every time you want to edit it.
You indicated that the user is at a remote location. TFTP (bootp) requests stay on the local local network unless specified. Cisco uses a tftphelper address to point the remote networks to the VM Pro server where the files are located. I would look into this.
