Hello All,
I have a customer who is running Windows7-64 bit OS on his PC, and we are trying to install Phone Manager Pro 4.2.36

The IP Office is 500v2 running 6.1(12)

The customer has opened all required ports in thier network firewall, and the end-user has disabled the Windows firewall on the PC, but the control unit cannot be found either as a broadcast to 255.255.255.255, or directly to the control unit IP Address.

We successfully installed Phone Manager on a 32 bit laptop with the Windows firewall active, and it works even without running the batch file.

Any help regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you try the following;

Click the Phone Manager Shortcut.
In the "Avaya login" screen typ the fixed IP address of the IPO then click on the button "User list" (you might need to click it more then once) now do you seen any users listed?
So don't let it browse.

I think that is my ultimate test riddle. I will do that. Bas1234, I have tried that. Same result, control unit not found.

Make the IP address fixed of the Win7 machine, don't put a GW in if the IPO is on the same LAN just the IP/Mask

Well, here is an update. It finds the system when patched directly, but loses it when on the lan we were able to stay connected with another 64 bit pc, and so now it appears to be related to the network in addition to win 7 64 bit. But we did get 1 user working. We will use 1x portal to see if it will be a better solution.

Stay tuned, and thanks for all the tips.

Always that network :)
The IT guy probably says that it is fine.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It's always one of the first things I do when I arrive on site for such issues, ends most arguments pretty quickly :)

Really daft question but did you reboot after turning off UAC?

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACA - Implement IP Telephony

Well the network executive is unquestionably on point with his knowledge, and believe me he knows his stuff, and is hands on rather than just managing the worker bees. I am sure they will find the problem and resolve it.

Btw Scott, that is not such a daft question, since brain fade can occur easily under pressure, but yes, we did reboot.

Thanks again for all the help and input.

I have same issue with a customer.

I told her I fully suspect its the network protection / intrusion protection the AV is running. told her unless that's turned off, I cant help her any more.

There is just no need if IT companies would run proper perimeter protection instead of using domestic routers in a business environment.
