Hello All,
I have a customer who is running Windows7-64 bit OS on his PC, and we are trying to install Phone Manager Pro 4.2.36

The IP Office is 500v2 running 6.1(12)

The customer has opened all required ports in thier network firewall, and the end-user has disabled the Windows firewall on the PC, but the control unit cannot be found either as a broadcast to 255.255.255.255, or directly to the control unit IP Address.

We successfully installed Phone Manager on a 32 bit laptop with the Windows firewall active, and it works even without running the batch file.

Any help regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Virusscanner.

Had one today with Panda.
After disabling it, it came up and worked.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The Anti-virus in use is policy based so all the users have it pushed to them. We had success installing on other users, and the only difference was the OS.

We will try disabling the Anti-Virus locally on the 64bit machine Thanks for the idea. My fingers are crossed.

What kind of anti virus.
My situation was exact the same.
I have used my pc to proove it.

Does it have an inbuild firewall?

Negative. The user has reported that he disabled the Anti-Virus, and there is no change. Also, the Win7-32 bit user still works without changing Anti-Virus, or Firewall settings on the same network.

Your help is appreciated.

Does it appear on the C:/Program Files for the X86 part?

Not sure if PM debug will capture before connection but you could try to enable it to see if a log is generated.

I will run the system monitor and system status both to see if they capture anything, but I will just be hoping to see something that identifies the capture as being related to Phone Manager. Do you know what I might have to look for?

Try to reinstall it but make sure UAC (user account control) is off.

Not system monitor but Phone Manager debug.

Simply add -debug to the link you click to run PM. You will then see a button called Debug when PM is run.

Cargoski, there is no link to run PM, it is just an exe app. Am i missing something?

Did that Tlpeter.

Recap:
1,Provided IT dept with Avaya port and protocol documentation for ports used by IP Office apps to make changes in the firewall appliance.

2. Disabled local windows firewall on the pc.

3. Disabaled Anti-Virus.

4. Executed fw-batch file on local pc.

5. Disabled Windows 7 UAC.

6. Installed User Suite 4.2.37 (which is PM 4.2.36) as administrator

7. Changed PM shortcut to include debug (Does not show when the app fails)

Results:

Phone manager pro does not find the control units either as direct IP addressing, or via broadcast address 255.255.255.255

I can ping the control unit from the 64 bit pc

32 bit machines have successful installation and full functionality without any of the above listed modifications.

I have very little hair left to pull out, and what is left is all grey.

Thanks for all the input, I will continue to try all your recommendations.

If you have one of the LAN ports on the system spare you can connect the PC direct to that (crossover not required) and see if it connects, that completely rules out the network if nothing else :)
