Hello,

Has anyone encountered Phone Manager Lite issues with 8.0 (44)? What we are seeing is that users login but then sometimes immediately or after a period of time it like looses connection and stops reporting incoming calls and the dial directory is missing people.

Sounds like tftp issues to me.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

PML has dependencies on the TFTP server running?

Everything you see is done by tftp.
The directory is tftp, blf is tftp etc etc.

Are you using a statistics software ?

I have the same complaints, just upgraded from 3.1 to 8 and PM 4.2.
In the network there is no change neither on the PC's, only IPO has changed from a 406V2 R3.1 to a IP500 R8.
I have running a few PMs with the debug option but I have no error found yet.

Not a upgrade but a complete new config.

One problem can be reproduced : Do a Call Pickup Any from the PM with analog stations, when you lift the handset of the phone PM gives a exception error and on Win XP SP3 it freezes, on Win 7 you can ignore the fault and continue to use PM.
If you first lift the handset and then do a Call Pickup Any there is no problem.
Reported to Avaya but I think there will be no fix but only a change in the manual....

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

Phone manager is not much longer for this world anyway.

try removing the PM profile and letting it recreate. Does that help?

I've gone as far as to install SolarWinds TFTP on the Manager/VMPro machine pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Manager and users still have phone manager failing. It will work for a while but then just stop reporting properly. Any ideas? :/

Phone Manager uses TFTP to talk to the system directly, installing Solarwinds can't have any effect on it at all, that's used as an alternative for handsets to get firmware etc nothing more, as Intigrant said it's just plain broken. And end of sale now anyway :)

That wasn't clear from the previous posts, so you are saying Avaya is aware this program is not working and is not offering a fix?
