Hello fellow experts,

I have searched the forums and web for this but I can't find any post that has the same issue I'm experiencing and your help would be appreciated. Recently a phone of ours just started to display the message "phone location unknown" even though there haven't been any changes made on the PBX at all as some of the other posts indicate that an upgrade to cs1000 5.0 is what is causing the issue. Any ideas?

Thanks,
V.

Is this a virtual office phone? if it is, it could have something to do with e911 service. Look for package 336.

It's an IP phone, Nortel 2002. It sounds like it has something to do with e911 based on all the other threads I've read but we haven't touched that phone at all nor have we upgraded anything so I'm a bit puzzled as to why it would all of sudden display that message.

Hello PlanetM

this is comming from emergency services, you need to configure your emergency services correct I think in your subnet information the IP address range of that set is not configured

regards
Fritz

Thanks Fritz. Do you mean I have to change the subnet address on the phone itself? If that's all it is, that's easy... :)

No you need to enter your Phones IP address range via elemt manager Emergency Services then under Subnet Information just go to that page and you will see what you need to enter there
