Hi all

we are using avaya ip 406 version2, software version 4.1 and voice mail pro 4.1 with avaya 5402 handsets.

The problem is, our phone keypads get locked after we have dialed a number. Like after making a phone call, if any auto attendent kicks in when can't enter any option using keypads.

Please help.
Many Thanks

thanks for the quick responce.

No I don't hear any clicks or tones.

Phone are on the digital extension module (IP 400 digital station).

There is one phone connected to 406 and it is working fine. No problems on that extension.
Rest of the extensions which are connected to the module are facing this problem.

Many Thanks TomMills

It sounds like maybe it wasnt upgraded properly?? Do you know if they upgraded to 3.2.999 on the digital modules?

yep, thats what i was working up to :)

try reloading 3.2(999) and then upgrading again

hi all
the module was upgraded with the software version 4.1 and it worked fine for couple of months.

every thing was working fine till last friday. this problem suddenly came up.

I have restarted the main unit 406 couple of times.
Should I shut down all the modules for 5 minutes and then bring them up? I know 90% of the windows problems can bo sorted by restart. Will the same theory work here ??

Many thanks

possibly, but it wont be a permanent fix.

i would downgrade the modules then upgrade them again

thanks TomMills

I have downgraded the main unit before (by following the tek-tips article).
How can I downgrade the module ?
Is there any article on how to do that ?

Many Thanks

same process,

make sure your working directory is looking at the folder with the 3.2999 bin files.

in manager file > advanced > upgrade

select the modules only. should show 3.2.999 as available

then downgrade them to this level.

then change working directory back to the manager folder and repeat the process, this time they will take the 4.1 (15) (or whatevel level you have) bin files.

Thanks TomMills

can't do this during the office. Will try this after office hours.

One more thing, you have helped me before in sorting out IP office problems. As our support company for IP office is shit (still haven't came back to me with a solution nor any suggestions), is there a way we can sort out a support contract with you.
My email is kuchulane@hotmail.com
just email me ur email address or phone number and I will contact you.

Many Thanks
