Phone Gone Blank

Hey folks,

Does anyone know what can cause a 2216 phone to just go blank, meaning the display has gone and not able to make calls?

I have gone to the status of the phone and has come back as "DSBL LOG OUT"

I have tried resetting the extensions but to no avail.

It is an option 11 system and here is the tn for the extension.

if that does not work, replace the instrument, it should stat idle, if it's not the 2216 it's either the card or the cable..

idu is returning npr503.

So i take it this means there is a problem with either the desk extension or the cabling between.

Also could be a bad TN, but I would start at the phone and work my way back to the switch. If you have a test set go across T/R and see if you have data at the RJ11, that's a pretty good indication that the TN is good

Cheers for the responses guys. I have re-patched it in the patch cabinet and it is working fine.

One Other question, how do you change the call forward settings? I am able to do

ftr cfw 4

to set the amount of digits but how do u add the extension number at the same time without going to the extension and doing the #1 then the extension number?

I want to achieve cfw 4 226. I am getting SCH0356 number out of range.

you can add the dest on that ftr line, you can use rcfw by setting a scpw then forwarding that analog from your set..if all you need to do is forward a number

ignore the other 200 prompts and that will forward a vacant number (xxx) to dn (yyy)
