I have recently started working with BCM 4 and IP 1140e Phones. I am trying to program a few of the user defined buttons on the phone. I am trying to see if there is a way to program 1 button to both answer the phone and also monitor it to see if it is in use at any time. If not then I will need to make it 2 buttons...I already have the answer portion done and am totally stumped as to how I would make it so the other phone can monitor to see if the phone is in use.

If the line is assigned to the phone, then it can also see if the line is in use.

Just assigning the lines does that.

You'll need two buttons to accomplish that, an answer DN and an autodial for the extensions you want to monitor.

Answer DNs are for answering a line on a phone of another phone. IF the boss has a private line, we'd put an answer DN of his phone on the secretary's phone. She does NOT have his line assigned to her phone, but she can see his status and answer ANY call internal or to his private line on that button.

Simply seeing the status of a line on two phones...assign the line to both phones to appear&ring
