A long story, got an 8.0 IPO with a phone 16 expansion module. One port went dead on the module so it was changed out, but a V2 Module was installed. We've never been able to get it to work. So... as it was a V2 the IPO was upgraded to 9.0. It still doesn't work. (Other V2 modules have been tried) I'm guessing it's a bin file / firmware issue. My next step is to format and recreate the SD card to make sure all the correct bin files are there. Anyone got any other ideas?? And.. can I remove the SD card on a live system and will it stay running? I would power down before re-inserting the recreated SD Card.

Sorry, just to clarify, it was at 7.0 and the upgrade path was to 8.1 then on to 9.0. there is an Av pots bin file on the sd card

There's an FAQ on what to do in the ip office section of tek tips.

Potato chip factory burnt down last night. It burnt to a crisp.

Thanks for that! Just a quick question, in the FAQ it says to 'make sure tftp server is enabled' I assume that means TFTP directory read is enabled in Unsecured interfaces, and TFTP server address in manager should be set as the LAN1 Ip address of the IPO?

I would also watch monitor to verify it is finding the file. Recently replace a DS30, and the firmware has changed and the file wasn't available at the release the system was running. I had to copy it from the 9.1 bin folder to get it to take firmware.

make sure the phone 16 module is powered up 1st, then power up control unit in that order, give it some time as it will upgrade itself

Just an FYI. I am in the middle of preping a system. Watching the DTE feed scroll by.

'ExpMUpgr Err: File=avpots16.bin vers can't be read or file missing on SD card' scrolls by....

And, like, a bunch of other X16.bin files missing or can't be read.
Oddly enough the bin files for the X.16 disappear from Manager starting in 9.1. Probably going to need to get those on the card.

In the end it was the control unit, all the expansion ports were dead, the Phone 16 module worked fine on another 9.0 control unit. Not something I've ever come across before. Still, I did the AT commands on the module and it was good to see it working with the output to my terminal emulator.
