Phatom paging tone

Have a Partner ACS (not sure what version but about 5 lines and 12 stations) Every few minutes (estimate 5-7 minutes) the paging tone comes over the paging speakers like someone is getting ready to page but no one is trying to page. Any ideas??

what type of paging amp and how is connected to the acs ? (paging port or trunk)

The paging tone does not come from the ACS processor. Keep this in mind when troubleshooting. First thing I would do is disconnect the page input from the page port (simply remove the plug from the jack) and see if the problem continues. (I'm assuming also that you are using the page output port on the processor though a page amp or controller that uses a line port shouldn't make a difference here). If the problen continueslook at your paging amp or controller. If not then consider a problem with the ACS processor.

Is it a ring or a page tone? Door phone ext? possibly

Something is tripping the page, an intermittent short, most likely a faulty amp. As skip555 suggested it would help to know more about how it's set up.
