Phaser 860 restarting

Hi.

Our Phaser 860 has taken to printing a few pages, jamming, and then randomly restarting. It's better when we manually feed, but it still sometimes restarts then too.

Problem is it doesn't give any kind of error code. It just LITERALLY shuts down and starts back up (with the print queue empty). Lord knows it's probably something simple and stupid that I need to address, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. All little "flags" in the trays seem to be present and in good shape.

Could it be something like the drum needing replacing? The print quality is really suffering as this has gone on. Not so much the B/W but the color stuff. As I said, there aren't any error codes, so I am not sure if this is a simple maintenance thing that I am missing, or something more serious.

If someone has ANY suggestions, I would love to hear them. I am not adverse to opening up the thing and tinkering with anything, but I don't want to go in there willy-nilly, ya know?

Thanks!

I have an 860 doing the same thing, but will occasionally give error #07.005.47, which I think is a maintenance drawer error (worn lift pins)

Hope that helps--

David

Check the error history under troubleshooting menu or service tools. Look for the above mentioned error (drum clutch bad) or 11,00X --power supply error. Other ones like 13,00X--bad error --printhead.

I tried shimming the lift pins - printer works fine until the shims mash down too far. I have a new maintenance drawer on order.
