PHASER 860 - PRINT WITH ONLY BLACK INK ?

Can a Phaser 860 Printer be made to work with only black ink
in the ink loader ? I've cooked my cyan head and would like to use the printer as a black only unit. Thanks Ernie

I have a Phaser 8200DX and under Printing Preferences there is a tab named TEKCOLOR. There's a radio button you can click to choose Black & White or you may be able to do in on the front panel.

one of the tech told me that he saw one of the customer do. As soon as the printer is out of contract, he use the rotary tool and cut the ink block shape on the prnter (color slot) to except black ink.

I have a Phaser 8550 and ran out of yellow ink. According to the instructions I could set the printer to black only printing. However, the printer would not allow black only printing unless I had a yellow block of ink installed into the the printer. Needless to say, as soon as the yellow ink was shipped to me and installed the printer at that time started printing nothing but black! It sounds funny now but when I needed the printer to print it refused to because of the yellow ink being empty.
