I was running a diagnostic on my Phaser 860. It will not print an image on the paper. While running through the diagnostics I received a message in the Check DM operation area that says, check dm axis control unexpected message 1: 6B26. Help I cannot find this code anywhere.

DM is refering to the Drum Maintanence Clutch. Most likely, you have the old style clutch. If you refer to another post of mine located at

And refer to the section where I talk about the differences between the new and old style. How to tell what you have, and the part number for the new clutch.

Fact is, that the old style was prone to failure. Xerox has redesigned these clutches, and so far, I haven't seen them fail like the old ones.

I have the Blue style clutsh. It was replaced under the warranty awhile back. I have been running more diagnostics and now when I run the cap test it says there is too much lag and halts.

I found the problem. I pulled out the waste tray and found a piece of paper stuck in there blocking the print head. It was printing, just not on the paper that was going through. Don't know how loing this piece has been stuck ther but it was a mess. Now I am running the cleaning and see if I can get all the ink out that has built up. This all started as a paper jamming problem so I guess I now know what the problem was.

But now I am back to the paper jam. It is jamming in the section above the waster tray and stopping like there is something inhibiting the path. The top of the paper bunches up as if you put your hand in front of it to make it stop. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I would not want to lose this wonderful printer.
