We bought the Phaser 8560 printer the other day and need ink to run a project over the weekend. Oddly enough no one I have called seems to carry ink and I don't have time to order it. I live in the Kansas City area and did find one place that had solid ink for the 8860 and I am wondering if I could cut it down and use it in my printer. I am pretty desperate and need some options.

Thanks,
Keith

I received some sample prints from xerox which they printed on one of their Colorqube models.

I'm very disappointed at how easy it is to scratch off the ink with just a fingernail. I definitely wouldn't want to use it for printing shipping labels, envelopes, post cards, etc. Hmm I wouldn't even feel comfortable printing brochures that I want to last a long time.

I really like the idea of the solid ink printers. I guess I'll just have to stick with toner for now.

How easily it scratches off depends somewhat on the paper. Like I said we have printed many postcards that have mailed without and real problems. As long as they are kept away from pointy objects lime fingernails they do pretty well. Scuffing isn't a real problem.
