My Phaser 850 "crimps" the paper when I print solid colors or a photograph. It makes a scraping sound while printing and scratches the ink off the right hand side of the paper. Does anyone know what might be the cause? Thanks
If the printer is crimping paper consistently, and there isn't anything disturbing the paper path (and it's a high page count unit, or one that has been moved around a lot), check the transfix assembly. Sometimes, it needs to be adjusted; but there are limits to HOW it can be adjusted -- sometimes it has to be replaced, at which point you'll probably want to buy a new printer, unless you feel you can do that time consuming repair on your own.
