I've been checking the forum and am impressed by the amazingly helpful people here. I have a 8200DP with <3000 pages through it. After moving the printer the other day (yes, I did a service shutdown and waited about 60 mins prior to moving it) I started having problems with the printer warming up. I ran it through diagnostics and it did not throw any noticable faults. Later that evening (several hours later), it started getting very upset and, after making a good deal of noise, it threw a 15.004.45:2779 with a nice flashing red light. Can anyone help me on this one? I would like to try to fix this myself if I can.

Thanks!
Ted

That error is your drum thermal preheater not getting hot enough. First turn your printer off overnight then the next day when you turn it on look into the vent on the right side and look for a pulsing light. If you do not see the light then both of your heater lamps are blown. If you do a search on here you will find instructions on how to replace the bulbs. If you have any questions let me know.

One quick question... I have an HPLJ4 now just to the right (about 1" breathing space) of the printer. I know this is not "optimal", but do you believe this could be contributing to the problem? I will look into replacing the bulbs ASAP.

Thanks for the help!
Ted

I do not think you laser jet sitting next to your printer is causing your 15 error. You should have 4" on each side according to the book but i have seen it in a lot tighter spaces and functioning just fine.
