Just recently, Phaser 780 Plus has begun to make a horrificly loud squealing noise that seems to begin as soon as it has finished warming up and the rollers begin turning, as front panel message says "Printing." Consumables reports show 11% of Imaging unit remaining and 28% of fuser roll life remaining. Printed pages are about 77,000.
My research showed nothing specific on this phenomenom. Closest thing was the start of an article about an HP Laserjet that had a similar problem and began a discussion about where to look and why not to oil or grease certain. And the offputting posts in this forum about greasing the clutch of the 780 which requires a virtually total teardown.
None of the easily accessible roller parts can be manually turned to create any noise much less such a strong sound.
So, does anyone have suggestions about pinpointing the likely source of this really high-pitched squeaking and how best to stop it.
