I am trying to get my 7700's colors aligned and adjusted, but I register my colors to the with the cyan. On test prints none of the colors are aligned, though through coarse regicon the YMB colors are within 0.5mm from the reference Cyan color. If anyone has any helpful tips or suggestion about color aligment I would like to hear.

You still must do the "skew" procedures #'s 1,2,3.
Set dip switch #2 down to have the values be written to NVRAM.
Do you have a manual?

First, thanks for the reply. Here is a quick wrap up of the 7700 that I am having problems with. It had suffered bad damage and almost all major parts were replaced including the two main circuit boards. I have a service manual and the printer is functional, but I can't get the colors to align properly. I try Regicon test #4 with the DIP switch 2 down and it restarts itself. It seems to be in the warm up phase for 3-5 minutes then displays an error 80 message (motor control board). Going back into the service menu and checking the test results show that it passes its test. The motor control board is new so I am hoping that the error message may be caused by some other component. So, I guess that I really have two problems, one with the color alignment and one with the error 80. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Go into service diags, and go to NVRAM menu. scroll to techrep faults, and clear each one. They will not be removed until a few re-starts. The logic, and engine NVRAM's have to get in sync. Remember to flip all dips up on a final re-start.

I had the same problem, you have to un-enable the netware setting, then you can do the regicon procedures without it erroring out with error 80, then when you do the test the colors will be right on top of the cyan. Hope this helps, it took me a several days to finally figure it out.
