I found an orange strip (looks like rubber) in the maintenance tray. Any idea what it is and how to put it back?

Thanks!

The orange strip is from the cap/wipe/purge assy, it is on the wiper blade that cleans the printhead faceplate. It will effect the cleaning cycle as it will not wipe the faceplate effeciently and cause light stripes or color mixing from one color jet to another.

Any idea of where I can find instructions on how to put it back?

Thanks for the help!

Anil

If that comes rubber comes off completely there is no way to put it back. The only alternative that I've seen or been told is to replace the whole maintenance tray assy. Hope this helps!

Send me your email address and I will see if I can send you instructions on replacing the cap/wipe/purge assy. If you have taken one of these apart before its not too bad a fix.

I've always been told I couldnt just put it back on. If you know of a way that I can, please do tell me. I have a customer now that the wiper has come off and I was going to order him a new Maintenance tray assy unless you can replace parts inside the tray itself. Thanks

bacardi, marty isn't talking about the maintenance drawer but the cap/wipe/purge assembly.. which cleans the printhead.

I appreciate all the help! My email address is aanthony@itxc.com
