Phaser 340 "Fault 05, 002. 42:7161"

Error: Fault 05, 002. 42:7161

I checked the Tektronix website and they suggest power off and on again. If this does not resolve have serviced. I service other brands of printers but do not have access to any info on this model of Tektronix printers. Can anyone decipher this and post a reply.

Here is what the service manual says: Y-axis position failure, the drum is not where it should be, possibly because the drum position sensor electronics have failed, or because the motor drive or drive belts have failed, or because something is physically blocking the motion of the drum. I would just unhook a wire and turn on the printer, and see what error comes up.. then turn off the printer and plug the wire back in...and try another wire. I guess just use the process of elimination...hope this helps, Kris
