It just began, when I turned the power for the printer off, while he was sleeping. After a restart the errorcode 04,005.44 was shown. Then after all managing like xerox says on their homepage, the printer came up, printed a cleaning page and showed the code 04,012.42. I did like xerox said. After some trials of restart, all began to function again (don't ask me how much wax he used), making a very few of nice prints, then coming up again with this errorcode 04,005.44. After a restart then again after the first print 04,012.42 or was it 04,011.41, which seems to be identic.

What can I do? I have cleaned the sensors, like in some other threads written, the printer started again. All worked fine, just until I had to stop a printjob. He showed again 04,012.42. I don't know what to do. Does anybody can help?
Thanks Bert

The most likely problem is the DM clutch. On this model the clutch is spring wound and lubed with a yellow grease that gets hard after awhile. The clutch is located on the left side and if memory serves it's white, you can take it apart and clean and relube it, just make sure you put it back the way it was.

Hi cultoflon, at the moment the machine works again and I had not yet to clean the clutch. But I located it (I think it is the round white plastic piece with three small relieved lines, there exists another one on the same side, but it is black. Both of them are responsible for the typical sound "clack-clack-clack") and on turning it a little bit I realized that it seems to remain in the position. This surely confirms that the grease is getting hard. When I get the error code again, I will solve this problem by cleaning it.

Thanks for your suggestion
