PHANTOM RING ON EXT. 21 (NORSTAR)

Help... I installed a 8x16 ics phone switch. Customer is complaining of phantom ring on ext 21. I installed a doorbell unit on ext. 32 that points or rings on ext 33 but ext 33 is connected to an ATA single analog corless phone, on ext 21 it also has a answer DN witch is ext 33. ext 21 has to private incoming/outgoing line, and every time x21 is forward to a different ext. they get just one phantom ring nothing displays on the phone. Customer saids that it follows the ext. where they forward the phone to. They are really getting mad.

Just a shot in the dark. Did you try removing redirect ring feature from set 21 in Capabilities. By default this is set to Y
IT is for the Line redirection feature, but may affect CFW as well. Give it a try anyway

Thank You... SPRUCEGROVER I'll try this. Somebody also told me that the doorbell phone also might be defective to disconnected for a while and see if the phantom ring still accours, could this also be true.

The Norstar Door PHone Needs to be hooked to a NON-Working Extension on the System- NO physical Connection, in order to assingn it too other phones in your office, there are many setting for the door phone in the installer guide you will find them all, If you don't have email me a fax # and i will send them to you.
