Hi,

I'm having a few problems with phantom extensions, I'm not even certain if what I am trying to do is possible.

What I would like is a phantom extn that has a bridged appearance on a number of phones.

I can set this up, but when ever I call the phantom extension I always get busy.

Does anyone know a way round this ?

Thanks

Matt

You need to have a telephone registered to the system with the extension in question in order to use bridged appearances.

For best results, the phantom would be an analog station, allowing it to always be available. Depending on the true need, you may be able to use a hunt group instead.

There is probably a better way to achieve what you're doing than bridged appearance keys. What's the end goal? :)

The idea is to give a visual notification that there is a incoming call to a specific extension or group and if it doesn't get picked up within a specific time it the phone starts ringing.

On some phones it needs to ring straight away, but as the same time as the other phones get the visual indication.

On the Avaya definity I would have done it with a bridged call appearance with the lines set to immediate ring or delayed ring.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

any reason why a hunt group is not used for this purpose?

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

Create an overflow group that has the users in that only ring after a period, also give those users a "Group" key for the first group and it will start to flash when the call comes in but not ring, then they will start ringing when the overflow hits and the key still continues to flash....sorted :)
