I HAVE AN 81C WITH 72 COPPER TRUNKS.....YES I SAID 72 COPPER TRUNKS. 18 ARE DID AND THE REST GROUND START DIAL OUTS. I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE TOWARD PRI BUT I STILL HAVE TO PROVIDE MULTIPLE PFT'S THROUGHOUT FACILITY. (HOSPITAL). WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF ANY? COST IS A FACTOR.

FIRST I WOULD TALK TO YOUR LEC AND SEE IF THEY CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH A BACK UP RING FOR THE FIBER, THIS WILL CUT DOWN ON YOUR DOWN TIME. IF THEY CAN'T THEN I WOULD KEEP SOME OF THE COPPER TRUNKS WITH GORDON KAPES OR ANOTHER TYPE OF BYPASS, SINCE YOU TALKING HOSPITAL.
BUT LIKE I SAID IF THE LEC CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH A FIBER RING THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR A OUTAGE.

I like that answer. Customers spend alot of money on PFT and the ground start lines that go with them. They most likely have a UPS and back-up generator. Also, everyone has a cell phone today! Yet, I continue to install PFT's?
