Just one question does pervasive encrypt the data in a pastel database.

Not sure, best to ask in the Pervasive forum, forum318. There is a Pervasive expert there that will know.

Just found this thread.. Pervasive doesn't automatically encrypt any data. Pervasive does offer data encryption though and if Pastel has chosen to encrypt the data then the data will be encrypted.

As far as I know the only encrypted data in Pastel are passwords in the ACCUSER.DAT file.
